Healing from Conception to Birth

Before my conception, saying “yes” to the Father’s plan to create me:

When we come to earth, no one asks for our opinion. It is fundamental for our personal balance, and for our spiritual health, our relationship with our Heavenly Father, to adhere to His creation project for us. This is the purpose of this first prayer.

Understand that life is the fullness that is in God; life is not the events in a life. Life events bring their share of suffering, and life can be terribly painful. However, life is the overflow of the life of God, which springs from His being and in which He wants you to participate. It’s a priceless gift that God gives you and it lasts forever. The sufferings on this Earth are limited, in time and in depth; the life of God is infinite, overflowing, and eternal.

Pray the following prayer when you’re ready.

“Abba, You are my only and true Father, from all eternity You have desired me. You were looking forward to the day when, thanks to my earthly dad and mom, You would create me, and I would come into existence. You chose me in Your Son from before the foundation of the world so that I would be holy and blameless under Your loving gaze. You have predestined me to be Your adopted child through Jesus Christ; according to the good pleasure of Your will, to the praise of Your glorious grace that You freely bestowed on me in Your Beloved (Eph 1:4–5). Today, Abba, I say ‘YES’ to your life plan for me, I say ‘YES’ to your act of Creation in my person. From You, I ‘live and move and have my being’ Ac 17:28 NRSV-CE. ‘Of Your own will, You brought me forth by the word of truth’ Jm 1:18 RSV. You confirm to me again, ‘Every generous act of giving, with every perfect gift, is from above, coming down from You, the Father of lights’ James 1:17 NRSV-CE. Your life plan for me is the fullness of life; You want to make me a partaker in Your divine life (see 2 P 1:4), to adopt me within the Trinity: I am a (son/daughter) in the Son. This is Your life plan for me. And I say ‘YES! Thank you, Abba!’ ”

Stay quiet and welcome the work of grace in you.

Conception and First Month:

“LORD Jesus, I invite You to visit me at the moment of my conception.” Brief time of silence.

Open your hands. Imagine the egg of your mother in one hand and the sperm of your father in the other: join your hands. It is at this precise moment that you were conceived. God has breathed on you. (Blow on your hands.) The breath of God has created your immortal soul.

“Before I was formed in the belly of my mother, LORD, You knew me. You created me to have a loving relationship with You in this life and forever. My LORD, You are my first and real parent, and it is You who placed me in a family on the earth. Your Word affirms that You call me by my name. ‘The LORD called me before I was born, while I was in my mother’s womb He named me’ Is 49:1 NRSV-CE. Your Word also says, ‘He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world’ Eph 1:4 DRB.

“LORD, You formed my being. You say to me, ‘You are my (son/daughter); today I have begotten you’ Ps 2:7 NRSV-CE. I declare it, ‘You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation!’ Ps 89:26 NJB. ‘You created my inmost self, knit me together in my mother’s womb. For so many marvels I thank you; a wonder am I, and all your works are wonders’ Ps 139:13–14 NJB.

“Abba, my Father, I bless You, because Your love and Your presence come to heal any lack of love that there was during my conception and my life in the womb. You wanted me, and that’s enough for me. My real Father is You. In You, everything is fullness: the fullness of life, the fullness of love, the fullness of peace. Thank You, Abba!” Rest in silence to welcome the Father’s love for you.

Pray for freedom from generational problems:

Adapt the prayer to personalize it.

“In the Name of Jesus, I release myself from the harmful physical, psychological, and spiritual bonds of past generations. I place the Cross of Jesus and His Blood between my ancestors and me so that they block any tendency to alcoholism, compulsions, destructive inclinations (such as incest), addictions, mental instability, congenital diseases (such as arthritis, cancer, diabetes, cardiac problems, and high blood pressure), as well as occult practices such as necromancy, in me and my children.”

Close your eyes to welcome the work of the Holy Spirit.

If you were conceived out of wedlock, you should break the curse of the Law:

Read the following prayer, then pray it if you agree.

“Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus Your Son our LORD, I ask forgiveness for the sin of my parents for having conceived me out of the sacred bonds of marriage, thus placing us under the curse. In Your Name Jesus, I forgive them of it. I dissociate myself from their sin, I renounce all sexual relations outside of marriage, because I choose to follow your commandments. Eternal Father, I repent of having dishonored (my father, my mother, my parents) by judging them for what (he/she/they) had done. LORD Jesus, I believe that on the Cross, You took upon Yourself all the curses that would have come upon me and my family. So, I am asking You now to free me from these curses placed on my life. I ask it in Your Name! By faith, I break this curse of the Law and I now receive Your blessing. Thank You, Abba. Amen!”

If you have “donor parents” (who donated either the egg or the sperm), pray according to what you experienced:

“Abba, come and visit me in my identity. Come tell me again that You are my real Father.”

If you are a product of artificial insemination (i.e. injecting sperm into the woman’s body), pray according to what you experienced:

“Abba, see this ovum and this sperm that were united by a medical procedure. Thank You, wonderful Heavenly Father for sending Your Holy Spirit to surround me with love at this moment of my conception. Thank you Abba.” Welcome in a time of silence the Father’s love for you.

If you are a product of in vitro fertilization, pray according to what you have experienced,

“Abba, see this ovum and this sperm that were united in a medical procedure, far from any human warmth, and which was then plunged in the cold of a freezer before being deposited in my mother’s uterus. Thank You, Heavenly Father, for sending the warmth of Your Holy Spirit to warm this little being I am.” Allow the Holy Spirit to act in a time of silence.

“Holy Spirit, thank You for restoring me from any consequences of this method of fertilization: psychological, spiritual, and physical fragility. Come and remove from my heart all fear of adults, people, all fear of hospitals, needles… Thank you Holy Spirit.” Allow the Holy Spirit to act in a time of silence.

“Holy Spirit, there is probably in the deepest part of me the question of ‘why me?’ which characterizes the syndrome of the survivor: this guilt to have been granted life, whereas other eggs fertilized at the same time as me were destroyed, or remained frozen. Come Holy Spirit, free my heart from all the guilt I had nothing to do with it, I had no responsibility for what my parents did. Thank you for the peace You bring me: I welcome it. Thank You, Holy Spirit!” Allow the Holy Spirit to act in a time of silence.

To be born with Jesus present:

“LORD, my time in my mother’s womb has come to term. It is the moment of childbirth.” Pray in silence.

If you feel afraid or anxious, say to the LORD, “Abba, may Your peace fill me. It is now the fullness of time, the time of my birth has arrived.” Am I ready to be born? Pray in silence.

If you do not want to be born, it may be because at that moment, you perceived the world as dangerous and you did not want to risk entering it. In this case, say to the LORD, “Your word, LORD, declares, ‘On you I was cast from my birth, and since my mother bore me you have been my God’ Psalm 22:10 NRSV-CE. Abba, You have adopted me; in Your Son Jesus, I really am Your (son/daughter).”

So, I ask You, ‘Abba my Father, help me to want to be born. Help me to move forward and embrace life. Help me to choose life and want to come into this world, which is Yours. Give me Your peace.’ ” Pray in silence.

When you are ready to be born, say to the LORD, “Come Jesus, manifest Your presence and Your peace at the time of my birth.” Take a moment in silence after each prayer.

“Abba Father, calm me of any fear or anxiety during the birthing process. Free me of any guilt over my mother’s pain. Abba, receive me in Your hands, so that I feel Your strength, Your sweetness, Your warmth. May I know that I am safe and sound in You.” Pray in silence.

“Jesus, be the first face I see, the first voice I hear.” Pray in silence.

If you feel some resistance during your birthing process, you can take authority in the Name of Jesus,

“In the Name of Jesus, I choose to come out of my mother’s womb! In the Name of Jesus, I choose to come to life!”

“Jesus, be the first face that I see and the first voice that I hear.” Keep your eyes on the LORD for a time of silence.

“Wonderful Father of tenderness, nestle me close to You so that I feel Your presence and attach myself to You as a newborn.” Abide in your Father’s arms as long as you wish.

“LORD, let me see Your big smile. May I hear You say, ‘I am delighted that you are born now. I am glad that you’re such a beautiful child. I am proud of you and you belong to Me.’ ”

Let yourself be loved by the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in a time of silence.

“Holy Spirit, remove all fear and heal me from any trauma experienced at birth.” Pause briefly to let the Holy Spirit answer your prayer.

If you were separated from your mother for a while at your birth, tell the LORD,

“Wonderful Father of tenderness, at my birth, I felt abandoned and alone. I did not understand what was going on. Come with Your maternal love to fill this lack, this void, and deliver me from all fear, from all insecurity. Thank You, LORD.”

In a time of silence, let yourself be loved by your God.

“Holy Spirit, remove all fear and heal me from any trauma experienced at birth.” Pause briefly to let the Holy Spirit answer your prayer.

If you have been relinquished for adoption, pray that the love of God will come to heal these wounds of love:

“Abba my Father, surround me with Your love. Send the power of Your Holy Spirit to heal this wound of love that was caused by this tearing away from my mom. Thank You, Abba, for always being there, surrounding me with Your love. Thank You for Your presence and Your faithfulness.

“Thank You, Abba for having adopted me in Your Son Jesus, so that I may be partaker of Your divine life for eternity. My place is right now and forever in the heart of the Trinity. Thank You, Abba!” Allow the Holy Spirit to act in a time of silence.

If your mother died at birth, say to the LORD:

“Wonderful Father of tenderness, free the little baby in me from all guilt. By Your Holy Spirit, let me understand that it was not my fault. Heal my heart from such a loss. Thank You, LORD.” Welcome the grace of freedom in a time of silence.

Finish this time of prayer by giving thanks to God:

“I thank You, Abba, for having created me. I thank You, for Your marvelous plan of love for my life. Thank You, LORD, that Your plans for me are plans ‘for welfare and not for harm’ Jer 29:11 NRSV-CE. May Your blessing come upon me and remain with me forever. Amen.” Pray in silence.
