Thank You for Your Generosity
Dear Benefactor,
Dear friends,
Thank you for your generosity in 2020 and 2021 in support of the Ministry of TRAINING IN CHRISTIAN HEALING. Because of your donations, JGHP was able to pay Anne Déchoz’s salary. She is a valuable help for me to continue the work of improving manuals and following up with people looking for an answer or help. After a break in January, your donations began arriving again to cover all her related expenses. I bless the LORD for each of you, and we pray every day for you, asking God to watch over you in all your needs.
In this letter, let me begin by giving you news of the ministry of training in Christian healing, and then I will tell you about the other ministries that fall under JGHP. Finally, I would like to tell you about CHARIS, in case you have not received that information.

News of the Christian Healing Training Ministry
“Like His Master” (Luke 6:40)
In 2020, this training ministry has finally received a name: “Like his Master,” referring to Jesus’ phrase: “Every well-trained disciple will be like his Master” (Luke 6:40).
Here are a few of the new features since the beginning of 2020:
As you know, the pandemic in March 2020 closed many borders putting a stop to all our training sessions. We did have time to give Level 4 in Amiens, France, in February, followed by Level 6 in Cayenne, French Guiana, before rushing back to Ottawa just before the borders closed. God is good to have brought us back home in time. Since then, all training sessions have been postponed.
Here’s what’s going on with the review work:
- On the English-speaking side:
- Volume 1 has received the approval of our English-speaking theologian for the Nihil Obstat. May it please the LORD that we finally receive the long-awaited Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the diocese.
- Volume 1 will be published very soon, in book and e-book (Kindle or equivalent).
- The new translation of Volume 2 from French is progressing well, as well as the revision work by our theologians. We are working to integrate the advice of our theologians into the French and English versions in the Level 2 textbooks.
A new brief teaching, “He who cures all your diseases” (Ps 103:3) has just been translated. Thanks to Robert DuBroy.
We are adding the teaching to the Volume 2 manual.
Then, we will film it.
- The 6-level training program has now been reorganized to better meet the needs of those in training. Manuals, mp3s and website now follow this new format. Some DVD sets remain to be done.
- The website is also in the process of complete redesigning. It is now bilingual. You can visit it at: https://henrilemay.com
You will find all the existing videos of our teachings. We will post the videos as we film again.
Thanks to Armando Prini for his amazing work!
- Videos
- Our friends and co-workers Armando and Jane Prini (St. Francis Studio) , and Marcel and Linda Dion (Magnificat Ministries) have just installed a mini-studio at our house, lending us the necessary equipment to film from home. This allows us to do the current filming, while respecting the “stay at home order.”
- Videos are now for sale at $5 CAD per unit or $40 by level, sending the files for download, via the internet. If you would like to buy videos in mp4 (or for any other order), please contact us by email.
- On the French-speaking side:
- As we said above, we are working to integrate the advice of our theologians in the Level 2 manual.
- Some teachings have been revised, and a few new teachings added:
- The brief teaching “He who cures all your diseases” (Ps 103:3) has been added to level 2;
- while the one entitled “Manifestations: Elements of Discernment” (Level 2 also) is completely rewritten, reorganized and redesigned.
These two important improvements are the result of the relevant advice of both of our theologians (anglophone and francophone). We thank them for that.
- Three teachings of Level 3 have been reviewed, corrected and enhanced:
- “Blocks to Hearing God,”
- “Words of Knowledge: Introduction” and
- “Spiritual Renewal of the Mind”
These are not yet retranslated in English.
- And other languages…
Translations are also underway to Italian and Spanish.
A big thank you to our dedicated co-workers in this gigantic translation work!
In the wake of CHARIS at the Vatican, our French association JRSP/JGHP is reinventing itself.
Looking back… End of 2019 – early 2020…
In the wake of CHARIS at the Vatican,
our French association JRSP/JGHP is reinventing itself.
With the launch of CHARIS, in June 9, 2019
Pope Francis gave a new mandate to the Charismatic Renewal:
At Pentecost 2019 (June 9) at the Vatican, at the request of Pope Francis, CHARIS is launched. This new body, born of the reunification of the ICCRS Council and the Catholic Fraternities, is now the only representative body of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal at the Vatican.
CHARIS or “Catholic Charismatic Renewal International Service” thus becomes “the international service organization for all expressions of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal.” In other words, it brings together all the realities of the Charismatic Renewal at the global level. Pope Francis asks all countries to do the same: unify all representative bodies of the Renewal.
- What are CHARIS’ missions?
In the past few years, the pope has addressed the Catholic Fraternities and ICCRS in this way:
“I finish by confirming the mission I gave you last year:
- ‘Share with each one in the Church the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.
- ‘Do not forget your origins; the Charismatic Renewal was born ecumenical! …
- ‘Work to alleviate the needs of the weakest and the victims of all human suffering. … Share also with them the Baptism in the Holy Spirit!
- ‘In order to do so, strengthen yourselves daily with the prayer of praise, a gift from the Holy Spirit that you have rediscovered for the Church, and which takes us to an ever greater intimacy with the Trinitarian God.”
Those are the missions that pope Francis entrusted to CHARIS international. In Canada, the Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) is working with the bishops to implement the CHARIS mandate in our country by creating a National Service of Communion. The French CCR, under bishop Denis Grondin, has already set up its Service Canadien de Communion.
… The Francophone-side of JGHP has come on board
to do its part in fulfilling this mission in the Ottawa area.
It has adopted some of the overall objectives of CHARIS and SCC (Service Canadien de Communion) which are:
- To help deepen and promote the grace of baptism in the Holy Spirit throughout the Church;
- To promote the exercise of charisms not only in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal but also throughout the whole Church;
- To encourage the spiritual deepening and holiness of people who live the experience of baptism in the Holy Spirit;
- To encourage commitment to evangelization, particularly through the new evangelization while respecting religious freedom;
- To promote the ecumenical dimension of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and to foster the commitment to serving the unity of all Christians;
- To identify and promote specific topics that can help deepen the grace of Pentecost;
- To encourage networking and cooperation between diocesan realities within the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in the areas of formation, evangelization, etc.;
- To promote service of the poor and social action through Catholic Charismatic Renewal; (CCR)
- To foster communion: among persons involved in various realties within Catholic Charismatic Renewal; with ecclesial movements that do not refer to this current of grace, and with other Christian Churches and Communities, especially those living the experience of Pentecost;
- To promote the place of the lay faithful in the Church.
To achieve this, the renewed JGHP Council plans to take initiatives and carry out projects in the service of the Church that aim to:
- Promoting the experience of baptism in the Holy Spirit
- To promote the exercise of charisms
- To encourage spiritual deepening and holiness of those who experience baptism in the Holy Spirit
- Encouraging commitment to evangelism
- Putting yourself at the service of the unity of all Christians
- Promoting service to the poor and social action
This is the main reason why the JGHP Council, with Alain Lévesque, Philippe Thomas and myself (Henri Lemay), welcomed, in early 2020, 8 new members filled with the love of the LORD: Toussaint Akochi, Michèle Clermont, Anne Déchoz, Emmanuelle and Emmanuel Houle, Maria Merheb, Bella and Idriss Tony Ntivyiwa, then Father Charles in September 2020. Together, we will work to revive JGHP in our region of Ottawa-Cornwall.
The pandemic, with the prohibitions of coming together, has unfortunately put a brake in the implementation of evangelization projects. We entrust ourselves to your prayers: that we may hear the Holy Spirit and be guided in new forms of mission!
News of other French ministries of “Jesus Gathers His People”
In January 2020, new ministries were launched by JGHP, French-side. Here are three that remained active, depending on their possibilities, despite the pandemic:
- Ministry “Fire to the Earth” Luke 12,49
Director: Charles Vallières, a priest in Sherbrooke, Qc.
It is with great joy that I announce to you the arrival of a new member to the JGHP Board: Father Charles Vallières of Sherbrooke. He has launched the ministry “FIRE TO THE EARTH” which he describes as follows:
“I came to bring fire to the earth, and how I wish it was already kindled!” (Luke 12,49)
“The Ministry of Fire to the Earth was born this year (2020). Although we are still in our first steps, its mission is simple and precise: to evangelize francophones who know little or nothing about the gospel, and to train those baptized to become missionaries with a heart on fire for God. Our ambition: to spread a missionary awakening in the fire of the Holy Spirit.
“In practical terms, the most visible mission of the ‘Fire to the Earth’ ministry was on social networks. For a few months (at the height of confinement), from Monday to Friday, a one- to two-hour prayer time was offered live on Facebook and YouTube. Morning in Prayer touched and transformed the lives of thousands of people. In this sense, we have received hundreds of testimonies demonstrating that Jesus is still alive, acting and doing wonders!
“Currently, in order not to waste a moment working in the Kingdom, the first members of this ministry are undergoing intensive training in evangelism and charismatic ministry (online).”
- Ministry “I AM / JE SUIS”
Director: Anne Déchoz
Offers times of praise and worship.
Every Thursday evening, Anne Déchoz—on behalf of the praise group I AM / JE SUIS—hosts half an hour of praise and worship in French online during the evening of St. Matthew’s parish in Hammond, Ontario.
If you would like to receive zoom and YouTube links for the evenings, you can write to us asking us to add you to the mailing list.
- MINISTRY JET “Jesus and you” (Jésus et toi)
Directors: Emmanuel and Emmanuelle Houle
Members: Nicolas and Stephanie Boily, Dominic Dupuis, Catherine Marleau, Maria Merheb
Email: info@equipejet.ca
Website: https://www.equipejet.ca
The JET team has experienced that the true joy of life comes from the joy of Jesus. Hence the call they feel to make known the Source of the Joy of Life to young francophone adults and teenagers. In particular, JET organizes times of personal spiritual growth for young people. They offered a day of healing outdoors on September 12, 2020: it was a blessed day.
Other JGHP ministries are looking for ways to adapt to current pandemic norms.
